About Liz
Liz Warner, MA began her educational career in 1980 as a teacher and continues to visit and work in classrooms today with teachers. Liz has won numerous awards as a teacher including Outstanding Young Educator, Pythian Sisters Outstanding Teaching Award, The Artemis Award, National Excellence in Math and Science Teaching, and Teacher of the Year. Ms. Warner knows classrooms and excellence in instructional practices.
Liz has trained 10’s of thousands of teachers since 1988. Liz was Dr. Spencer Kagan’s Director of Workshops and a teacher trainer with Kagan Professional Development for over 13 years. Since leaving Kagan, Liz has worked with Pearson, Inc. as one of the National Faculty for SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol) . Liz started Warner Education, LLC. In 2005 to meet the needs of mainstream classroom teachers challenged by the English Language Learners (ELLs) in their classrooms. Liz has spoken at many national and international conferences (ASCD, NSDC, TESOL, CATESOL, NABE, CABE, IRA, etc). and is sought after as a teacher trainer.
Liz is also a published author. She wrote the Communication Boosters Smart Card and co-authored the Graduate Course for Cooperative Learning. Liz has also contributed book chapters to Implementing the SIOP Model through Effective Professional Development and Coaching and The SIOP Model for Administrators. Liz is presently working on a book of STELLAR strategies.
Ms. Warner received her Masters degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Nevada, Reno, where she is also presently working on a PhD in Language, Literacy and Culture, to be completed in May of 2011.
